Bradford Flowering Pear
The Bradford Flowernig Pear, Pyrus calleryana, 'Bradford', is an extremely popular, vigorous growing, medium size, shade tree with outstanding clusters of white blooms in spring and very attractive terrific yellow to red to purple foliage color in fall. The Bradford pear is a beautiful garden addition that produces no edible fruit. This flowering tree grows best in full sun. A great benefit of the Bradford is that it is a rapid grower, achieving a 12 to 15 feet increase in height over an 8- to 10-year period. Bradford Pear trees are shallow-rooted and will tolerate most soil types. They are pest- and pollution-resistant, and tolerate drought well. It is one of the most fireblight-resistant cultivar of the flowering pears.

Lilac - Miss Canada
The Miss Canada Lilac,Syringa x prestoniae, is a spreading, graceful shrub with arching branches, reaching 6 to 9 feet in height, 5 to 8 feet spread. Foliage is dark green with a beautiful yellow green fall color. It is a prolific bloomer of bright pink flowers and blooms in mid June. A reasonably compact lilac for the smaller garden, and shrub border.

Norway Spruce
The Norway Spruce tree, Picea Abies, is a fast growing tree that can grow to 150 ft. Norway Spruce trees, placed on a good site, should reach 5 ft. in 6 to 7 years starting with a 2-yr. seedling. The dense, dark green needles never get longer than 1". This evergreen conifer tree thrives well in average soil conditions, but prefers moisture in the soil to maintain its deep green color. It is highly valued as an ornamental and timber tree. It is one of the best conifers for shelters and windbreaks, as its branches grow densely into one another. For planting a windbreak, or for noise abatement, these trees should be planted 6 ft. apart. The branches of Norway Spruce trees droop gracefully as tree matures, making this a very attractive ornamental.

Chestnut
The Chestnut Crabapple blooms in mid-May. It has a pleasant nut-like flavor. It produces a very large crabapple, up to 2" in diameter that ripens in early September. Outstanding flavor and good texture for fresh eating as well as being a pollinator. A very hardy plant with a medium storage life. It usually has a partially russeted skin and hangs well on the tree. It is a very productive annual bearer, and is loaded with white blooms in the bloom stage. The fruit quality holds well on the tree, being quite spritely at first and becoming sweeter later on. An excellent pollinator for other fruit apples.

Nuttall Oak
The Nuttall Oak tree, Quercus nuttallii, was not distinguished as a species until 1927. It is also called red oak, Red River oak, and pin oak. It is one of the few commercially important species found on poorly drained clay flats and low bottoms of the Gulf Coastal Plain and north in the Mississippi and Red River Valleys. The acorn or winter buds identify Nuttall oak, easily confused with pin oak (Q. palustris). The lumber is often cut and sold as red oak. In addition to producing timber, Nuttall oak is an important species for wildlife management because of heavy annual mast production. Nuttall Oak trees are a good choice for low poorly drained locations. During winter, squirrels find a ready supply of acorns, since many acorns remain on the tree into January. Acorns are favored by deer and also eaten by turkeys.

Stanley
The Stanley Prune has large, sweet, juicy flesh. The dark blue skin enfolds delicious, greenish-yellow meaty flesh. It is a freestone. The Stanley Prune is late blooming, extremely cold hardy and reliable. Harvest is late summer. It is self fruitful and a heavy producer.

Witch-hazel - Common
The Common Witch-Hazel, Hamamelis virginiana, is extraordinary in its flowering habits. It flowers in late October to early December. Many times its slender yellow petals are the only signs of color in the dormant woods. Witch-hazel is pollinated by the winter moth. After pollination, the fruits become dormant for the winter, developing over the following growing season and maturing in the fall, 10-12 months after pollination. Seeds are dispersed by gravity, or are eaten and excreted by birds. Witch-hazel seeds germinate the following spring or enter the seed bank. Early growth is slow, and in fact remains slow throughout the life of the tree in its typical shady habitat. As individuals, witch-hazel probably does not live more than 100 years, but they reproduce from root sprouts, and clones may live for a very long time.

Bonica

Bonica roses are easy to grow , and are very colorful and disease resistant. This landscape rose can be planted as a hedge, specimen, or focal point.
