Japanese Honeysuckle - Halliana
This is the most commonly seen Honeysuckle. Has Whitish-yellow flowers with a delightful fragrance. Very fast growing to 15 to 30 feet and 2 feet tall as ground cover. Produces rampant growth capable of engulfing wire or chain-link fences in just a couple of seasons. A reliable, fragrant evergreen vine for a shade arbor. Excellent for screening, to drape over an unsightly wall or wood fence. A country-garden standby often trained onto dilapidated outbuildings or into the branches of dead trees. Capable of covering huge amounts of space in a short time, this vine makes a great ground cover on banks and slopes for erosion control. Be aware that is can be quite invasive.

Trumpet Creeper
This is a rapid growing, clinging vine produces orange trumpet shaped flowers in the summer months that attract hummingbirds. A tough vine for hot and dry sites. The invasive nature of this plant makes it hard to get rid of but also very hardy. The abundant sprays of trumpet-shaped orange flowers cover this deciduous vine for an extra long bloom season. Excellent for covering fences or arbors.

Hackberry
The Hackberry tree, Celtis Occidentalis, is a superior tree that withstands heat, drought, wind, and alkaline soils. The Hackberry tree is tall, and has similar spread, with ascending arching branches, and some drooping branches. Hackberry trees have a large spreading crown with red-orange fruit in the fall. This deciduous tree has low water requirements, and a high tolerance to salt and alkali soils and urban conditions. Light green summer foliage turns to a yellow fall color. The Hackberry is a moderate growing rugged tree. The trunk takes on a corky appearance as it matures.

Red Maple - Autumn Flame
The Autumn FlameŽ Red Maple tree, Acer rubrum, 'Autumn Flame', is a fast growing tree that is also one of the first trees to show fall color. The Autumn FlameŽ Red Maple has scarlet/green leaves which make for gorgeous fall color. This deciduous trees leaves will always contain a hint of scarlet. It will grow in low lands and can handle excessive moisture. The Autumn FlameŽ Red Maple is pyramidal when young with ascending branches. The branches develop low and form a dense, narrow crown. The lobed leaves are a nice bright green. It requires full sun for best effect. It is not tolerant of drought or very hot dry weather. This tree is a large tree that can achieve a trunk size of three to five feet in diameter. This is truly a beautiful shade tree.

Okame Cherry
The Okame Cherry tree, Prunus Okame, is one of the earliest of the flowering cherries. Its carmine-pink petals, with rose-red calyx and reddish flower stalks, open fully before leaf break. It has a very consistent year-to-year blooming habit. The rosy red buds are attractive before flower break and the overall floral effect lasts 2 to 3 weeks. At maturity, ?Okame? Cherry trees will attain 20-30' in height with a similar spread. The young trees display a broad-columnar habit; older trees develop a more rounded habit. Fruits are small, and not ornamentally important. This deciduous tree has an attractive dark red-orange fall color. Shiny reddish brown bark is also very attractive. Rate of growth is medium-fast, especially when young, so expect 1-2' or more per year. Prunus. ?Okame? does best in moist, well-drained soil, but will adapt to a variety of soils as long as they are not wet. It is pH adaptable. Locate it in full sun or light shade. It makes a fine specimen tree and should be sited where it can be easily seen in late winter/early spring. Flowering is its main feature, yet the ?Okame? can be considered an all seasons plant with its attractive bark and fall color. Excellent heat and cold tolerance.

Silver Maple
The Silver Maple tree, Acer Saccharinum, is a medium to large fast growing tree. The species is ideal for wet bottomland sites and can easily recover from extended periods of flooding. It is one of the best trees for poor soil and it transplants very easily. The wood of this maple tree is soft and can be damaged by severe winds or ice storms. Along with its fast growth, it may live 130 years or more. The Silver Maple is often used in residential areas for shade because of its thick foliage and fast growth. Its leaves are deeply cut and silvery white underneath. They appear as light green and turn to yellow in the fall. This deciduous maple tree provides very dense shade. Fall color is a golden yellow.
