Spiraea - Van Houtteis
The Spiraea Van Houttei's, Spiraea vanhouttei, has a foliage color of a dull bluish green. Flowers are white in April-May, borne in many flowered 1-2" diameter umbels. Outstanding deciduous shrub that is very showy in flower. Van Houtte Spirea is a durable and familiar shrub. Best growth occurs in a sunny location and any garden soil. The flowers are produced in spring after the leaves. The plant grows rapidly and may be used as a screen.

Red Globe
The Red Globe Peach has a very large, round fruit with yellow flesh that has excellent flavor. This red skinned peach has one of the finest flavors ever developed. The exceptional quality makes it a highly desirable commercial peach. The very large peaches are ripe in June, and the trees are highly productive and vigorous. A highly blushed red over a golden background color, it is one the most attractive peaches of its season. It has good quality and firmness.

Black Cherry
The Black Cherry tree, Prunus serotina, is native to eastern North America, Mexico and Central America. It typically occurs in both lowland and upland woods and along streams. It is also known as a wild cherry or wild rum cherry tree. It is one of the largest of the cherries, typically growing to 50-80? tall with a narrow-columnar to rounded crown. This deciduous tree is most noted for its profuse spring bloom. Their fragrant white flowers in slender pendulous clusters appear with the spring foliage. The flowers are followed by drooping clusters of small red cherries that ripen in late summer. Black Cherry trees produce fruit that are bitter and inedible fresh off the tree, but the fruit can be used to make jams and jellies. Fruits have also been used to flavor certain liquors such as brandy and whiskey. The glossy green leaves turns to attractive shades of yellow and rose in fall. Mature trees develop dark scaly bark. Bark, roots and leaves contain concentrations of toxic cyanogenic compounds, hence the noticeable bitter almond aroma of the inner bark. The Black Cherry tree produces hard, reddish-brown wood that takes a fine polish and is commercially valued for use in a large number of products such as furniture, veneers, cabinets, interior paneling, gun stocks, instrument/tool handles and musical instruments.

Arborvitae - American
The American Arborvitae, Thuja occidentalis, is a conifer evergreen tree that is widely used as an accent tree or as a privacy hedge tree. American Arborvitae trees have a broad pyramidal shape with erect branches that are dense and crowded together. The scale-like leaves are abruply pointed. The leaf color is bright green above and pale green below and they may turn a yellow brown is some winters. This evergreen tree prefers a deep well drained site. When established it can stand considerable heat and drought. It is one of the most popular of all trees for windbreaks and year around privacy screening. It may be sheared and shaped to fit into most every landscaping need.

Texas Whitebud
The Texas Whitebud tree, Cercis canadensis, 'Texas Whitebud', has glossy green foliage. It is a small, deciduous understory tree which typically grows to 12-18' tall. Clusters of tiny, white, pea-like flowers bloom profusely on the branches and mature trunks for 2-3 weeks in early spring (March-April) before the foliage emerges. Deciduous heart-shaped leaves open soft pink but gradually mature to a glossy rich green. Pendulous, flat, bean-like, 2-4" long seed pods resembling snow peas appear after flowering. Fall color is variable, but often includes attractive shades of reddish-purple and orange. Dogwoods are true harbingers of spring. Easily grown in average, medium wet, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Part shade is best in hot climates. Excellent small tree for lawns, woodland gardens or naturalized areas. Effective planted as a specimen or in groups. Use as a street tree in residential areas.

Potentilla-Coronation Triump
The Coronation Triump Potentilla, Fruticosa coronation triumph, is a beautiful small mounded shrub that is ideal for foundation plantings. This is one of the earliest bloomers with bright yellow flowers. It offers excellent foliage all season long and has one of the longest blooming periods of all Potentillas. It is also deer resistant. This mounded shrub grows 3-4' high and has a 2-3' spread. It prefers full sun. They are virtually pest free. The Coronation Triumph has the longest blooming period of all Potentillas. The shrub flowers from early spring to late fall and should be pruned back every 2 to 3 years which will rejuvinate the plant.

Sensitive Fern
Sensitive fern is a large, somewhat coarse deciduous fern which occurs in wet woods and thickets and in moist soils along streams and springs. Grows up to 4' tall. Features long-stalked, deeply pinnatifid, bright green, vegetative (sterile) fronds (2-4' long) with leathery, triangular leaflets (pinnae) which have distinctively netted veins. Shorter, erect, woody-like fertile fronds (to 12" tall), whose ultimate divisions are bead-like segments, typically brown up in late summer and persist throughout the remaining season and winter. Commonly called sensitive fern because the green vegetative fronds are sensitive to and suffer almost immediate damage from the first fall frost. Also sensitive to drought. Best in wet woodland gardens and moist locations along streams and ponds. Also appropriate for shaded areas of a native plant garden or naturalized planting. Foliage may depreciate as summer progresses in hot climates, particularly if soils are not kept moist.

Aspen - Quaking
The Quaking Aspen tree, Poplus tremuloides, is the most widely distributed tree in North America. It is known by many common names: trembling aspen, golden aspen, mountain aspen. This deciduous tree grows on many soil types, especially sandy and gravelly slopes, and it is quick to pioneer disturbed sites where there is disturbed soil. Quaking Aspen trees are fast growing and very hardy. Poplus tremuloides provides benefits for many kinds of wildlife. It will grow both as a single or multi-stemmed tree. The Aspen is esthetically appealing with light bark, trembling leaves, and yellow fall color.
