Siberian Elm
The Siberian Elm tree, Ulmus pumila, is the fastest growing deciduous hedge we know of and the more you trim, the denser the hedge. The Siberian Elm is a fast growing, hardy, and drought resistant tree when established. It is one of the first to leaf in the spring and one of the last to shed its leaves in the fall. It is also considered to be a great windbreak tree are when planted in rows. To use as a hedge, plant 10 to 15? apart in the row. Siberian Elm has moderate water requirements until established. Very adaptable, often grows under adverse conditions. Resistant to Dutch elm disease. Excellent when used for wildlife cover.

Hardy Pecan
The Hardy Pecan tree, Carya Illinoinensis, is a beautiful, majestic tree that grows to a height of 70 to 100 feet with a spread of 40 to 75 feet. It has low wide spreading branches. The tree provides a bounty of sweet edible fruits and lots of summer shade after reaching maturity. Hardy Pecan trees have moderate water requirements and has a moderate tolerance to salt and alkali soils. This deciduous, hardy, shade tree is ideal for lawns because it does not shed its leaves until late fall and it is practically immune to the attack of insects. It begins to bear nuts in 12-15 years.

Barberry-Red Leaf Japanese
The Barberry bush or RedLeaf Japanese bush, Berberis thunbergii, is a deciduous shrub reaching up to 24" tall and about 30" wide. The branches are slender, spiny, and small, and the leaves are roundly oval in a deep red to purple color. The small, yellow flowers borne beneath leaves, from April to May, are not showy. Bright red berries can be found along stems from late fall through winter. Ironically, this is never really considered a feature of this plant. Barberry bushes are best located in full sun. This plant is tolerant of many types of soil, but will not do well in wet to very moist soils. As name Barberry implies, this makes an excellent hedge or filler shrub.

Red Maple - Red Sunset
The Red Sunset® Red Maple tree, Acer Rubrum Red Sunset, is considered one of the best trees for early fall color! Forsythia - Lynwood Gold
The Lynwood Gold Forsythia, Forsythia x intermedia 'Lynwood Gold', is an old time favorite with an upright spreading habit and big yellow flowers up the entire length of stem. It is one of the best and most reliable of forsythias. The flowering stems appear as deep golden wands in April. 'Lynwood Gold' is a dense growing plant with an upright habit. Forsythia is excellent for hedging, fast growing and tolerant of moist soils. 'Lynwood Gold' grows 6 to 8 feet tall and wide and does best in sun to light shade. Allow plants to develop for the first three years with minimal pruning. Once plants are established prune in midspring after flowering by thinning out crowded stems from the center of the shrub. Also remove one or two old stems from the base. A little pruning will go a long way to keep your forsythia attractive and free flowering!

The Willow Hybrid tree, Salix Willow Hybrid, also called a Hybrid Willow, will, on average, and under normal conditions, grow six feet per year. Under ideal conditions and on good sites the growth rate is even faster, up to twenty feet a year. Planted as a hedge, screen, windbreak, or to line a road or drive, you can expect this tree to be over 20? tall and 15? wide in just three years. This deciduous tree can grow to over 70? tall. This tree will require supplemental water until established. It is not a Weeping Willow, but an upright growing majestic tree. Many homeowners use this tree as a shade tree because of its fast growth and quick shade.
