Hybrid Poplar
The Poplar Hybrid tree, Populus Hybrid, will grow six feet per year with average and normal conditions This fast growing tree is often planted as a hedge, screen, windbreak, or to line a road or drive. You can expect this tree to be over 20? tall and 15? wide in just three years. It can grow to over 70? tall. This deciduous tree will require supplemental water until established. When you need shade in a hurry, we suggest the fast-growing Hybrid Poplar trees. We haven't found any tree that grows like it. It normally lives 30-50 years. It is wind, disease, and insect-resistant and it can take the cold as far north as Canada. This poplar is often used to reforest after forest fire, and to reclaim land after strip mining. But, the best use is to provide beauty and a quick, cool, shade tree for new homes.

William Baffin
The William Baffin rose is a Canadian Explorer rose with glossy light green foliage, blooming from early to mid July until frost. It is an unsented rose which can grow to a height of 7 ft. William Baffin roses are vigorous and disease-resistant. It is one of the hardiest and most useful roses for northern gardens.

Red Mulberry
The Red Mulberry tree, Morus Rubra, is a medium-sized tree, reaching approximately 50, and occasionally, 70 feet in height. The trunk can reach a diameter of up to two feet. The broad, rounded crown consists of many shorter branches, making red mulberry a desirable shade tree. It is a rapid-growing tree. The tree's value is derived from its abundant fruits, which are eaten by people, birds, and small mammals. Red mulberry is found on a variety of sites in the East and Central U.S. and is tolerant of shade. The fruit is an edible red-purple drupe that resembles blackberry. It has dark green leaves, and the fall color of the leaves is yellow.

Eastern Whitebud
The Eastern Whitebud tree, Cercis canadensis alba, is best known for their profuse white pea-like flowers. The heart-shaped leaves of this redbud tree are 3-5" across and its fruit are brown flat pods about 2-3" long. The trunk of this small tree usually branches close to the ground resulting in a spreading flat-topped to rounded crown. Eastern Whitebud trees grow best in full sun to light shade with moist well-drained deep soil. This small deciduous tree is adaptable to other soil types but will not grow well in permanently wet or poorly drained soil. It is used as an ornamental or patio tree.

About the Soil Knife: The knife has a serrated edge with a 6 inch by 1 3/4 inch blade that cuts, digs and saws through soil. The overal length of the knife is 11 3/4 inches and it weighs 0.8 lbs.

Potentilla - Tangerine
The Tangerine Potentilla, Fruticosa tangerine, is an excellent but rare wildlife shrub. The orange flowers last over many weeks like other cinqufoils, but the beauty and unique feature of this species is the prostrate habit. The dense foliage spreads horizontally across the ground slowly producing a thick mat. They are virtually pest free. The Tangerine variety is wide spreading with layered branches. The flowers are bright yellow in full sun but become orange in cool weather or parital shade.. The shrub flowers from early spring to late fall and should be pruned back every 2 to 3 years which will rejuvinate the plant.

New Dawn
The New Dawn rose is a strong grower and is unusually hardy and disease resistant. 'New Dawn' has long been a favorite climber. New Dawn roses have double pink, fragrant flowers that fade to soft pink are carried over a long season. It has healthy, dark green disease resistant foliage and is a rose with few faults and a long flowering season, even carrying a few blooms in the winter. It blooms spring and repeats in the summer. The New Dawn was a World Fereration of Rose Society Hall of Fame inductee in 1997.
