Italian
The Italian Plum has medium to large fruit. The fruit has a dark purple skin with yellow-greenish flesh that runs dark wine color when cooked. Italian plum fruit separates freely from the pit. These large, freestone purple plums are very sweet, perfect for drying, eating fresh, or canning. It is one of the most widely planted plum varieties in the West. This excellent shipping prune is a heavy bearer and good for both canning and drying.

Ginkgo
The Gingko tree, Ginkgo biloba, is the sole surviving species of a group of Gymnosperms that flourished 65 million years ago, the time when dinosaurs existed. Gingko trees are also called Maidenhair trees. This tree can have a lifespan as long as 1,000 years. It is the only living gymnosperm (which includes pines, firs, and spruces) that sheds its leaves during the fall. They turn bright yellow in autumn. The fruits are plum like, about 1", and are orange-yellow when ripe. Tree can attain a height of 100 to 122 feet with a girth of 3 to 4 feet. In the Unites States, these deciduous trees are used for herbal supplements. Ginkgo biloba are sold as memory-boosters and "longevity" pills. The medicinal components of ginkgo are the dried leaves, the seeds separated from their fleshy outer layer, and the fresh leaves. Ginkgo are not native to North America, rather they are indigenous to China, Japan, and Korea, where they may still exist in remote mountainous parts. Today the tree is often planted in cities because of its remarkable resistance to urban smog and to insect pest. Our trees are sold unsexed.

Tilton
The Tilton apricot is the leading variety for freezing, drying, and canning. Tilton apricots are a unique looking apricot and are one of the most flavorful of all apricots. Their appearance is noted by having a slightly flatter shape with a "suture" line that goes halfway around the fruit. This longtime favorite is tender and juicy with a sweet-tart flavor. It has medium sized fruit that is heart shaped. It has a light orange skin. The flesh is firm and flavorful and it has a golden color with a red blush. A vigorous tree which bears heavy crops and is resistant to late frosts. One of the earliest ripening fruits. Blooms very early and ripens late June to early July.

Chokeberry - Red
The Red Chockecherry, Aronia arbutifolia 'Brilliantissima', cultivar is a deciduous shrub which typically grows slowly to 6-8' tall and is perhaps most noted for its attractive glossy red berries and red fall foliage color. Clusters of white to pinkish flowers appear in spring. Flowers are followed by abundant glossy red fruits (3/8" diameter) which appear in dense clusters along the branches. Fruits ripen in late summer and persist throughout fall and well into winter. The glossy, dark green turns bright red in autumn. 'Brilliantissima' primarily differs from the species by being more compact, producing more lustrous foliage with superior red fall color and producing larger, glossier and more abundant fruit. Common name is in reference to the tart and bitter berries. which are so astringent they cause choking in those who try to eat them. The ability to withstand wet conditions makes it suitable for growing on the margins of ponds or streams. Also effective in naturalized areas where its suckering, colonial growth habit does not need to be restrained. Easily grown in average, medium wet, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. It has a wide range of soil tolerance including boggy soils. Best fruit production usually occurs in full sun.

Colorado Blue Spruce
The Colorado Blue Spruce tree, Picea Pungens, is a pyramidal shaped evergreen with steel blue foliage. It prefers heavier soils, full sun, and clean cultivation. Colorado Blue Spruce trees will reach a height of six feet in eight years on a good site, starting with a 2 year old seedling. The Blue Spruce is probably the most drought tolerant of all spruce trees. This evergreen conifer is widely used in windbreaks or as an ornamental yard tree. Not all plants will be blue. Each bundle will contain a mixture of blue, blue-green and green seedlings. A handsome ornamental specimen for use as a dense, colorful screen or windbreak. Space 6 ft. apart when used as a screen or windbreak.

Castleton
The Castleton prune fruit is of medium size that rarely split. It is one of the best eating prune available. This prune tree is very productive and is relatively small. The prunes are early and are a high quality blue plum, ripening a month before Empress. Dual purpose -- a fine early dessert plum, but also an excellent processing variety. Castleton prunes are freestone; pit does not shatter or split.

Sweetshrub
The Sweetshrub, Calycanthus floridus, or Carolina allspice is a dense, rounded deciduous shrub with a suckering habit which grows 6-9' tall with an equal or slightly greater spread. It features very fragrant, brown to reddish-brown flowers (2" across) which bloom at the ends of short branchlets in May. Flowers give way to brownish, urn-shaped fruits (seed capsules) which mature in fall and persist throughout the winter. Lustrous, dark green (pale beneath), ovate to elliptic leaves to 6" long turn golden yellow in fall. Leaves are aromatic when bruised. Also commonly called sweetshrub and strawberry bush because of the reference to the fragrant blooms which have been described as combining hints of pineapple, strawberry and banana. Another common name is hairy allspice which is in reference to the hairy twigs and leaf undersides of this plant. It is easily grown in average, medium wet, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. It grows somewhat taller in shade than in sun, and it is tolerant of a wide range of soils, but prefers rich loam. Prune immediately after flowering to shape or maintain compactness. Remove root suckers promptly if naturalization is not desired. Use as a specimen near front door, patio or other living areas where the fragrant flower aroma may be enjoyed. It is utilized for shrub borders, foundations, and native plant areas.
